Romanian national team captain Nicolae Stanciu is the subject of intense transfer negotiations as he nears a potential return to the Romanian SuperLiga. Currently playing for Dalian Yingbo in China, the 33-year-old midfielder is being pursued by two major domestic clubs: Universitatea Cluj and FCSB.

Universitatea Cluj has confirmed advanced discussions, though club president Radu Constantea clarified that no official contract has been signed yet. The club is leveraging its stability and the player's desire to return home to compete with higher-paying offers from abroad. Former teammate Raul Rusescu suggested Stanciu might favor the Cluj-based side due to its proximity to his home.

Simultaneously, FCSB is actively attempting to secure the midfielder. Club official Mihai Stoica stated that the club considers the matter “more than 75% resolved” and is applying pressure from multiple sides to bring him back to Bucharest. New coach Laurențiu Reghecampf has also expressed strong interest in adding Stanciu to the squad, citing his extraordinary quality and character.
