Nicolae Stoica exhibition opens at Romania's Bucovina Museum

The exhibition "Nicolae Stoica – ultimul mare interbelic" will open on Wednesday, 12 August 2026 at 13:00 in the National Museum of Bucovina, Romania. It is organized by the Jean Louis Calderon Foundation in partnership with the museum and curated by Damian Florea, the foundation’s president.

The show brings together 39 oil paintings and 10 drawings from major museum collections and private holdings, accompanied by a comprehensive monographic catalogue compiled after years of research in Romanian and foreign archives. The event seeks to restore the interwar painter’s reputation, which was suppressed for more than eight decades under the communist regime, and to re‑establish his place in the national artistic heritage.
