Nicolas Cage to star in post-apocalyptic thriller Parish

Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in Parish, an upcoming post-apocalyptic action thriller written and directed by Adam Sigal. Set thirty years after a nuclear war, the film follows a hardened survivor who has maintained his safety by adhering to a strict rule: never allowing anyone through his fortified gates.

The protagonist's isolation is disrupted when he chooses compassion over self-preservation by welcoming a desperate woman and her infant into his sanctuary. This decision exposes his compound to a vicious band of cannibals, forcing him into a brutal fight to protect his life and his highly trained attack dogs.

Production is slated to begin in October in Minnesota. Concourse Media is handling worldwide pre-sales ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival market. The project features cinematography by David Tattersall and is produced by Joel Shapiro of MagiCity Studios.
