Nicolas Tagliafico nears end of international career with Argentina

Olympique Lyonnais defender Nicolas Tagliafico has joined the Argentina national team for an international break featuring three friendly matches. His first appearance of the break is scheduled against Bolivia.

At 34 years old, the left-back, who has earned 83 caps for Argentina, indicated that he is approaching the end of his international career. Speaking to TyC Sports, Tagliafico stated, “I am in the home stretch,” and expressed his desire to make the most of his remaining time with the Albiceleste. He also commented on the eventual transition the team will face following the international retirement of Lionel Messi, noting that while it will be difficult, the squad must accept the reality and work toward the future.
