Nicolas Winding Refn announces sci-fi thriller Her Private Hell

Director Nicolas Winding Refn is returning to feature films with the science fiction thriller ‘Her Private Hell’, scheduled for release in Germany on November 12, 2026. The film marks Refn’s first feature since ‘The Neon Demon’.

Set in a futuristic metropolis enveloped by a mysterious fog, the story follows a young woman named Elle, played by Sophie Thatcher, as she searches for her missing father. Her journey through the city involves encountering a deadly entity emerging from the mist. Along the way, she joins forces with an American soldier, portrayed by Charles Melton, who is also attempting to rescue his daughter from the perilous environment.

The screenplay was co-written by Refn and Esti Giordani. The cast also includes Charles Melton, Havana Rose Liu, Diego Calva, and Kristine Frøseth.
