Nicole Briones cleared to work for PT without quarantine

The Public Ethics Commission of the Presidency of the Republic has authorized Nicole Briones to work for the Workers' Party (PT). The decision exempts her from the mandatory quarantine period typically required for individuals transitioning from strategic public administration roles.

Briones previously served as the Superintendent of Digital Communication and Social Media at the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC). She is the wife of Marco Aurélio Santana Ribeiro, known as Marcola, who served as a close personal aide to President Lula. Briones was invited in 2025 to coordinate the social media efforts for the PT and is the owner of the firm Matilha Comunicação.
