Nicole Kidman discusses childhood stutter during film promotion

Actress Nicole Kidman has shared personal details regarding a childhood stutter that occurred between the ages of four and six. During a joint interview with Sandra Bullock to promote the upcoming film “Practical Magic 2”, Kidman explained that while she has largely overcome the issue, she still occasionally experiences moments where she struggles to communicate. To manage this, she utilizes a technique of slowing her speech rhythm and taking short pauses.

Kidman also noted that these early experiences contributed to her naturally shy temperament, mentioning that she still feels social uncertainty in certain settings, such as entering a crowded restaurant or a party alone.

In light of the promotion for the “Practical Magic 2” sequel, Kidman’s career achievements are also being highlighted, including her Academy Award, five Golden Globes, and her recent Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival for her role in “Babygirl”.
