Tom Cruise seeks Nicole Kidman reunion for ‘Days of Thunder’ sequel

Tom Cruise is reportedly seeking a professional reunion with his former wife, Nicole Kidman, for a planned sequel to their 1990 film ‘Days of Thunder’. As production for ‘Days of Thunder 2’ moves forward, Cruise is said to be eager to have Kidman reprise her role as Dr. Claire, the character who helped launch her career and sparked their real-life romance.

While sources suggest that Kidman is in control of the decision and would only participate if the creative execution is perfect, industry insiders indicate that there are no significant contractual hurdles to her return. Kidman, now an Academy Award-winning actress and producer, would be returning to the project that served as her professional origin.

Separately, Kidman has recently reflected on her past marriage to Cruise in a feature for British Vogue. She described their connection as being ‘madly in love’ and noted that despite concerns from others that the marriage might negatively impact her career, she was willing to prioritize her relationship at the time.
