Quito police investigate discovery of woman's body in Santa Ana Park
A woman, estimated to be between 22 and 25 years old, was found dead on Sunday morning, August 23, in Santa Ana Park, located in the La Magdalena sector of southern Quito.
Police arrived at the scene around 08:10 following a citizen alert. Initial inspections by the Eloy Alfaro District police reported no visible signs of external violence or injuries on the body. However, authorities noted the presence of controlled substances near the deceased.
Criminalistics and specialized units, including Dinased and the Judicial Police, secured the area to preserve evidence. Investigators are currently reviewing local surveillance cameras and awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death and whether the circumstances involve criminal activity.
