Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi undergoes hysterectomy for cervical cancer

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi disclosed that she was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer (adenocarcinoma) in February 2026. To treat the disease she underwent an open abdominal hysterectomy, which removed her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and portions of her vagina while preserving her ovaries to avoid premature menopause.

Polizzi posted emotional video updates on Instagram and TikTok, describing the surgery as a “C‑section cut” and saying she was “literally terrified at this point.” She said the operation was painful and that she is “struggling” during recovery, sharing a thumbs‑up selfie from a hospital bed and a post‑surgery meal of curly fries with ketchup. Fans, family and co‑stars offered support, and she repeatedly urged women to stay current with Pap smears, noting that early detection saved her.

She is married to Jionni LaValle and is mother to three children (Lorenzo 13, Giovanna 11, Angelo 7). The procedure was performed at Overlake Medical Center, and Polizzi emphasized trying to stay optimistic despite the pain and anxiety surrounding the post‑operative period.
