Nicolás Maduro shares faith‑based message of hope to Venezuelans and the world

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro used his social‑media channels on 14 June 2026 to send a religious‑centered message to the Venezuelan people and “the peoples of the world”. The post, issued from a detention centre in New York, highlighted the Sacred Heart of Jesus as a source of life, protection and spiritual strength. Maduro quoted biblical passages and, together with deputy Cilia Flores, expressed “love, prayer and faith in life” and urged everyone to let the Sacred Heart continue to “protect our lives, our faith and our struggle for true happiness and freedom”.

The communication was accompanied by graphics featuring the Venezuelan flag, the presidential seal and a photograph of Maduro with Flores, reinforcing a tone of unity and spiritual solidarity while he remains under U.S. custody.
