Nicolás Mendioroz Juncosa arrested in Australia for bitcoin fraud

Nicolás Mendioroz Juncosa has been arrested in Australia following an international search for his capture. He is accused of fraud and fraudulent administration involving more than $170,000 USD in cryptocurrency investments.

The investigation reveals that since 2021, victims in Salta, Argentina, provided funds to Mendioroz Juncosa under the premise of lucrative bitcoin investment opportunities, but the money was never returned. The suspect had been a fugitive since 2022 after evading a scheduled indictment hearing.

Following his arrest, the defense attempted to secure bail by offering family property as collateral, but Judge Claudia Puertas rejected the request. Mendioroz Juncosa is scheduled to be transferred to Salta under Interpol custody on Thursday, October 15, to face judicial proceedings.
