Nicosia tourism board promotes Cyprus capital to Greek visitors

The Nicosia regional tourism board, Etap Nicosia, held an event in Athens to promote Cyprus’ capital to Greek visitors. Under the slogan ‘Nicosia: Greece, we are waiting for you’, the initiative aimed to increase visitor flows by highlighting the city's cultural, religious, and business attractions.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis emphasized the long-standing ethnic, political, and economic ties between Cyprus and Greece, stating that increasing tourism in both directions is a key objective. Cyprus’ ambassador to Greece, Stavros Avgoustidis, also noted that Nicosia offers a wide range of experiences for Greek travelers.

The event featured presentations on religious heritage by Bishop of Mesaoria Gregorios and discussions on economic synergy by Cyprus-Greece Business Association president Iosif Iosif. Iosif noted that the expansion of Greek businesses in Cyprus demonstrates complementary economic links between the two nations.
