Nicușor Dan calls for moderation at Cotroceni Palace Church service

Romanian President Nicușor Dan attended a Holy Liturgy at the Cotroceni Palace Church, which celebrated its patron saints. The service was officiated by Timotei Prahoveanul, Vicar Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, alongside a group of clergy.

Following the service, the President addressed the congregation, emphasizing the need for moderation and understanding in a society where he noted that “hatred and strife are growing larger.” He remarked on the importance of historical perspective, stating, “It is important to always keep in mind that history does not start with us.” He called for respect toward those with differing opinions, urging citizens to treat one another as neighbors.

During the liturgy, Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul spoke about Saints Sergius and Bacchus, noting that a relationship with God is a privilege greater than any official position or office.
