Nicușor Dan signs four decrees in Romania

Romanian President Nicușor Dan signed four decrees on September 9, 2026. These legislative actions include the promulgation of laws regarding the regime of protected natural areas and the evaluation of environmental impacts for certain public and private projects.

Additionally, the President promulgated a law to repeal certain provisions of the Administrative Code. This specific change modifies rules regarding incompatibilities for local and county councilors, clarifying that they are no longer considered incompatible in certain instances where they hold positions in other public institutions or authorities. The law also provides legal clarification for situations that arose between the implementation of previous regulations and these new provisions.

A third decree ratified a loan agreement between Romania and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development concerning fiscal policy and economic growth. The final decree concerns the accreditation of Theodora-Magdalena Mircea as Romania’s ambassador to several Caribbean nations and Haiti.
