NIDA Poll: Corruption and Senate allegations threaten Anutin government

A NIDA Poll survey conducted between August 18–20, 2026, indicates significant concerns regarding the political stability of the government led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Among 1,310 respondents, 62.75% identified corruption in local government official examinations as the primary threat to stability, followed by allegations regarding Senate election manipulation (55.88%) and investigations into the Khao Kradong case (42.29%).

Other cited concerns include energy price volatility, Thai-Cambodian conflicts, and the 400-billion-baht loan decree. Regarding the government's ability to manage these issues, 39.69% believe it can handle some issues, while 31.99% believe it will be unable to handle them at all.

When asked about the government's survival, 37.86% of respondents believe the administration will not survive, while 26.03% believe it will survive but suffer significant damage. Additionally, the poll addressed public perception of Prime Minister Anutin's gesture of respect toward former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, with 41.45% viewing it simply as a junior showing respect to a senior.
