NiDCOM commends Nigerians in prominent global roles
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has praised Nigerians living abroad for securing leadership positions in international organizations, global corporations, healthcare, and academia. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and CEO of NiDCOM, described these achievements as a source of national pride and evidence of the professional expertise Nigerians contribute to global development.
Dabiri-Erewa linked these accomplishments to President Bola Tinubu’s ‘4Ds’ foreign policy agenda, which focuses on Development, Democracy, Demography, and Diaspora. She emphasized that the diaspora remains a strategic asset for national development, particularly through knowledge transfer, investment, and innovation.
Notable individuals recognized include Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu in international cancer control, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar in epidemic preparedness, Dr. Bolu Ogunyemi in Canadian medical leadership, and Professor Christian Harrison in academic management.
