Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University hosts climate and media collaboration events
Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University (NÖHÜ) recently hosted the COP31 Simulation, showcasing various academic and student projects focused on climate change, sustainable agriculture, and urban resilience. Key innovations presented include hemp-based ecological concrete blocks coated with titanium dioxide to improve durability against UV rays and temperature changes, as well as GIS-based urban software designed to increase citizen participation in urban transformation processes.
Additionally, research was presented regarding the utilization of agricultural waste, such as apple, tomato, and cabbage residues, for animal feed.
In a separate development, NÖHÜ signed a cooperation protocol with the Niğde Journalists Association. This partnership aims to strengthen ties in education, professional development, and media through internships, joint research, and career support for communication faculty students, while also working toward the promotion of the city of Niğde.
