Niğde Women's Cooperative Begins Fenugreek Harvest

The Hüdavent Hatun Women’s Cooperative in Niğde, Turkey, has started harvesting the fenugreek (çörek otu) cultivated on the region’s fertile soils. The cooperative plans to process the harvested herb into natural products such as fenugreek seeds and oil, aiming to add value to local agriculture and support the medical and aromatic‑plant sectors.

Cooperative president Fatma Büyükakkaş highlighted that strong women drive strong production, thanking public institutions for their support. By involving women directly in the production chain, the initiative seeks to boost local economic activity and increase female employment opportunities in the area.
