Niedersächsische Landesforsten implements forest restructuring and new shelter

The Ahlhorn forestry office of the Niedersächsische Landesforsten is implementing forest restructuring measures in the Herrenholz area near Goldenstedt. To ensure transparency, officials held an information session for local citizens to discuss the necessity of these changes, which aim to develop stable, structure-rich, and climate-adapted forests. The area is also recognized as a Natura 2000 site, highlighting its ecological importance.

In a separate development within the same forestry district, a new shelter has been inaugurated at the ‘Europawald’ near Ramminghausen. This diverse forest was created over 13 years through a reforestation project supported by companies such as HansaFlex and Peter Bormann Office-Partner. The project involved planting thousands of various tree species, including maples, oaks, and chestnuts, to create a biodiverse habitat. The name ‘Europawald’ originated from HansaFlex planting trees for its various European business partners.
