Niedziela weekly examines media influence and Catholic identity

The Polish weekly magazine ‘Niedziela’ is examining the evolving landscape of media and its impact on human thought. Key discussions focus on whether influence is increasingly held by journalists or by digital algorithms and internet influencers.

In light of its 100th anniversary, Bishop Adrian Put addressed the challenge of maintaining Catholic identity amidst the influx of information and artificial intelligence. Discussions also touched upon the role of media in addressing European values and social issues, such as encouraging young Poles to build families within the country.

Father Grabowski emphasized that Catholic media must maintain a distinct purpose, aiming to address topics often ignored by mainstream outlets, including bioethics and the boundaries of state influence on education. He clarified that while the publication is guided by Catholic social teaching, its independence is defined by adherence to the Gospel and truth rather than specific political party affiliations.
