Niestetal develops new commercial zone as Klinikum Kassel executive is released
In Niestetal, the municipality is developing a new commercial area on Bergstraße. The project utilizes part of an 8.2-hectare site formerly occupied by a Tennet substation. While Tennet will retain 5.75 hectares of the land, approximately 2.5 hectares will be designated for new business settlements. The municipal council approved a development plan in early September, which requires a change in land use from electrical operations to commercial use. Mayor Marcel Brückmann expects the planning process to conclude by autumn 2027, after which marketing for three to seven small business plots will begin.
Separately, the Gesundheit Nordhessen Holding (GNH), which oversees Klinikum Kassel, has announced the immediate release of HR Executive Board member Stephanie Faehling. The decision follows a resolution by the supervisory boards of both GNH AG and Klinikum Kassel GmbH not to extend Faehling’s contract, which is set to expire on March 31 of next year. GNH expressed gratitude for her contributions to the organization's personnel work. Michael Knapp will lead the company alone for the time being.
