NIFRO submits policy input on Arctic strategy and space capabilities

NIFRO has submitted formal input to two major public consultation processes regarding Norwegian and international policy. These include the European Union’s new Arctic strategy, requested by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development, as well as the ‘Project Turning Point’ regarding future development policy.

NIFRO emphasizes that space capabilities are becoming increasingly essential for successful policy implementation. Key areas of impact include maritime surveillance in the North, environmental monitoring, and combating illegal fishing. Additionally, NIFRO is closely monitoring ongoing space cooperation developments with Germany.
