NIG to launch QUICK PACK traveler biz backpack on Makuake

NIG, an online retailer based in Ibaraki Prefecture, has announced the pre-sale of its new travelers' backpack, the ‘QUICK PACK traveler biz,’ starting October 27, 2026, on the crowdfunding platform Makuake.

Designed to address common user frustrations regarding accessibility and organization, the backpack features six specialized pockets, including a ‘smart pocket’ that allows users to retrieve smartphones without removing the bag. The main 11.9L compartment utilizes a hammock-style divider to separate items into two layers. Other features include a security pocket for passports with skimming protection, a PC pocket for up to 14-inch devices, water-repellent material, and a built-in rain cover.

A survey of 577 potential buyers revealed that 36.6% of users are dissatisfied with the difficulty of accessing items or the disorganized nature of current backpacks. While marketed as a travelers' bag, 63.5% of survey respondents indicated they intend to use it for purposes other than travel, such as commuting or daily outings.

The product will be available in matte black and heather gray. Makuake early-bird pricing starts at 21,880 yen, offering discounts of up to 40% off the planned general retail price of 34,200 yen.
