Nigel Farage breaks parliamentary rules on first day back

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, has reportedly breached parliamentary rules on his first day back in the House of Commons. Following his victory in the Clacton by-election, Farage posted a social media video filmed on the roof of the Houses of Parliament without seeking prior permission from authorities. A House of Commons spokesperson stated that unauthorized filming is not permitted on the Parliamentary Estate due to security and personal safety concerns.

In addition to the filming incident, Farage has criticized the parliamentary standards committee regarding an ongoing investigation into his non-declaration of a £5 million gift from a cryptocurrency tycoon. He suggested to the BBC that the inquiry is rigged and that committee members have already prejudged the outcome. Farage’s return to Parliament follows a by-election where he secured 22,239 votes, significantly higher than his previous election results, despite facing comedian candidate Count Binface.
