Nigel Farage calls for ban on all public face coverings

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has called for a total ban on all full-face coverings in public spaces, including religious coverings, following recent anti-migrant demonstrations in Britain.

The proposal follows weekend protests in Dover, where crowds of men in black clothing and balaclavas blocked access to the ferry port. Similar unrest occurred in Portsmouth, where police officers were reportedly injured and official vehicles damaged during a stand-off with masked protesters. Farage described face coverings as a ‘menace’ used to ‘bully and intimidate,’ arguing that a civilized society requires individuals to be identifiable in public.

The demonstrations in Dover were linked to the Patriot Platform, an organization run by Daniel Thomas. During a confrontation in Portsmouth, Thomas challenged Reform UK’s home affairs spokesman, Zia Yusuf, regarding Farage’s previous rhetoric toward protesters.
