Nigel Farage victory rally investigated over lack of council permission

Tendring District Council is investigating the organizers of ‘Farage Fest’, a victory rally held for Reform UK leader Nigel Farage following his Clacton by-election win. The council stated it refused to grant a Late Temporary Event Notice (LTEN) because the application was submitted after the required five-day deadline.

Despite the lack of authorization, the overnight event proceeded at Great Oakley airfield, featuring live music, alcohol, and a Ferris wheel. Hundreds of attendees participated in the gathering, which Farage referred to as ‘Clactonbury’.

Local authorities are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the unauthorized event. If the council decides to prosecute, organizers could face fines or custodial sentences.
