Nigel Hayes-Davis to miss six weeks with metacarpal fracture

Panathinaikos forward Nigel Hayes-Davis is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks following an injury sustained during a training session at the Telekom Center Athens. The American player suffered a fracture in his fourth metacarpal of his left hand and has been fitted with a specialized splint.

The injury comes at a critical time for the team, as Hayes-Davis will miss the upcoming Super Cup in Rhodes scheduled for September 25-26, as well as the initial games of the new season in the Greek Basketball League. Additionally, he is projected to miss the first four matches of the EuroLeague season, including games against Paris, ASVEL, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Fenerbahçe.

If his recovery progresses according to the current medical estimates, Hayes-Davis could potentially return to competition around October 22 for the matchup against Baskonia. This injury adds to the roster challenges for Panathinaikos, following the recent absence of Kendrick Nunn.
