Nigel McGuinness withdraws from ROH Pure Championship match

Nigel McGuinness has officially withdrawn from his scheduled Ring of Honor (ROH) Pure Championship match against Lee Moriarty at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view in Philadelphia. McGuinness stated on social media that he has not been cleared to compete following a leg injury sustained during a recent Continental Challenge Cup match against Katsuyori Shibata.

The match carried high stakes, as a loss would have prevented McGuinness from competing in ROH again. With his withdrawal, Moriarty’s new opponent is expected to be either Katsuyori Shibata or Wheeler Yuta.

Despite the setback, McGuinness remains focused on the Continental Challenge Cup and his goal of competing at Wembley Stadium. He has already advanced to the semifinals of the tournament after defeating Hechicero.
