Nigel Owens to host new S4C farm series for young people
Former international rugby referee Nigel Owens will host a new S4C television series titled Fferm Ail Gyfle (working title Second Chance Farm). The program aims to help young people transform their lives by working and living in a rural setting.
Producers are currently casting participants aged 18 to 25, specifically seeking those looking for a fresh start, a new challenge, or a sense of direction. Participants will learn new skills, including teamwork, while overcoming personal challenges through agricultural work.
Owens, who has been working on his own farm since retiring from international refereeing in 2020, will be assisted by Pembrokeshire farmer Rhys Colnet. The series is a production by Tŷ’r Ddraig, part of Banijay UK’s Workerbee Group, and Captain Jac. It is scheduled to broadcast on S4C, S4C Clic, and BBC iPlayer in 2027.
