Nigel Sylvester releases ‘Brick After Brick’ documentary

Professional BMX athlete and entrepreneur Nigel Sylvester has released ‘Brick After Brick: The Documentary’ on his YouTube channel. The 38-minute film, directed by Sylvester and Carlyle Smith, chronicles the two-year process behind his second Air Jordan 4 collaboration.

The documentary provides an intimate look at Sylvester’s hands-on involvement in the project, from the initial design and shaping of the sneaker to managing his team and executing the release campaign. Sylvester stated that the film aims to demonstrate the energy and work required to bring a shoe to life, countering the perception that designers simply attach their names to existing concepts.

The film opens with the Brick By Brick Air Jordan 4 being named Complex’s 2025 Sneaker of the Year at ComplexCon. This collaboration marks Sylvester’s seventh project with Jordan Brand. The documentary premiered on September 28 at a private screening in New York City.
