Nigella Lawson joins The Great British Bake Off judging panel

The Great British Bake Off is entering a new era with significant changes to its judging panel. Nigella Lawson is joining the show as a judge, stepping into the role vacated by Prue Leith.

Prue Leith, who served as a judge for nine series and oversaw more than 400 challenges, announced her departure to spend more time in her garden and enjoy her summers. Leith noted that while viewers may find it difficult to adjust to her absence, she is confident in the show's longevity.

The transition follows the previous departure of Mary Berry, who retired from the program in 2016. Berry, a prominent British culinary icon and former food editor, remains a significant figure in the show's history.
