Nigella Lawson to debut as judge on Great British Bake Off

Nigella Lawson is set to make her debut as a judge on The Great British Bake Off when the new series premieres this September on Channel 4. Lawson succeeds Dame Prue Leith, who announced her departure from the competition in January after nine series.

A newly released trailer provides a first look at the new judging lineup, featuring Lawson alongside existing judge Paul Hollywood and co-presenters Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond. Lawson, who described the show as a ‘national treasure’, expressed that she is ‘bubbling with excitement’ despite feeling ‘a bit nervous’ about the role.

Prue Leith has endorsed the appointment, describing Lawson as ‘sassy, fun’ and stating that ‘she knows her onions.’ Filming for the upcoming series is already complete.
