Niger inaugurates Maradi Regional Court of Auditors

On 1 August 2026, Niger opened its first regional chamber of the Court of Auditors in the city of Maradi. The ceremony was led by Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine and attended by the court’s president, Salissou Saadé Laminou Tchiroma, as well as regional governors and several ministers.

The new Maradi chamber will oversee public accounts for the Maradi, Zinder and Diffa regions, aiming to decentralise financial oversight, increase transparency and bring financial justice closer to citizens. Officials said the institution will strengthen accountability, improve the management of public funds and support good‑governance reforms championed by President Abdourahamane Tiani.
