Nigeria addresses welfare and allowance concerns for Osun election personnel

The Nigeria Police Force has denied allegations that hundreds of officers deployed for the Osun State governorship election have been neglected or left without adequate food and welfare. The Force stated that the continued presence of personnel in the state is a standard post-election security procedure intended to prevent violence and ensure a smooth transition to normal policing.

Separately, the Osun State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service addressed delays in the payment of election duty allowances to its personnel. Officials confirmed that payments are being processed electronically and include funds from both federal and state governments. Personnel have been urged to remain patient as the disbursement process continues.
