Nigeria advances digital transformation in civil service and Ekiti State

The Nigerian government has entered the implementation phase of its digital transformation agenda for the Federal Civil Service. The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has inaugurated an 11-member Technical Working Committee to develop a comprehensive implementation framework and roadmap. This initiative aims to move the service toward a coordinated ecosystem characterized by secure information flow, interoperability, and simplified processes across various ministries and agencies.

In Ekiti State, the government has partnered with the United Kingdom to accelerate digital transformation through policy, regulatory, and institutional reforms. Supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the partnership seeks to strengthen the digital economy and expand access to technology-driven opportunities. Local efforts include the establishment of a public-sector-led Startup Garage and the development of a Digital Innovation City to foster entrepreneurship and innovation.
