Nigeria and Ghana partner on digital innovation and technology

Nigeria and Ghana are advancing strategic partnerships in digital innovation and technology to drive economic transformation in West Africa.

In Nigeria, the government is implementing several digital initiatives, including the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, which has seen over 135,000 Nigerians trained to date. Additionally, Project BRIDGE is working to establish a national ICT backbone to increase internet penetration to over 70% and create significant job opportunities. The GITEX NIGERIA tech event, scheduled for August–September 2026, will serve as a major platform for AI and digital economy growth in the region.

Nigeria's industrialization efforts are also being supported through the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, NASENI aims to transition the country from a consumer-based economy to a producer-based one by focusing on local manufacturing, renewable energy, and indigenous technological solutions.
