Nigeria and Liberia deepen maritime cooperation in Lagos

The Director General of Nigeria’s Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, met with Liberia’s Honorary Consul in Lagos, Dapo Akinosun, at NIMASA headquarters. Both officials reaffirmed a commitment to strengthen regional maritime integration, capacity development and training for African youths, emphasizing the sector’s role in the continent’s Blue Economy.

Mobereola highlighted Nigeria’s recent successful bid for a Category C seat on the International Maritime Organization, noting Liberia’s support. Akinosun expressed Liberia’s intention to deepen collaboration on maritime administration, safety, capacity building and trade promotion, citing the partnership as a driver of sustainable growth across Africa.
