Nigeria and Pakistan police chiefs convene security reforms meetings

Inspector‑General of Police Olatunji Disu in Nigeria held an emergency conference at the force headquarters in Abuja, bringing together senior police leadership to address national security concerns and police accountability. Disu condemned an extra‑judicial killing in Delta State, dismissed the involved officers and ordered criminal prosecution. He announced the creation of a Violent Crime Response Unit that will operate on intelligence‑driven deployment, and reported recent intelligence‑led arrests of suspects in terrorism, murder, robbery, kidnapping and cult‑related crimes, as well as the rescue of kidnapped victims and seizure of firearms.

In Pakistan, Inspector‑General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a series of meetings in Islamabad to review the overall security situation, counter‑terrorism measures, police‑station development projects and public‑service initiatives in the federal capital. Senior officials, including DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar and SSP CTD Saud Khan, participated in the discussions aimed at improving security and policing in the city.
