Nigeria and Spain seek to deepen trade and tourism ties
Nigeria and Spain are seeking to expand bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation in tourism, trade, investment, and direct air connectivity. Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, highlighted the potential for increased economic activity across several sectors, including agriculture, renewable energy, security, education, and commerce.
Ambassador Ikpeazu emphasized that restoring direct bilateral air services is a critical priority to facilitate the movement of tourists, investors, and government officials. He noted that Spain serves as a strategic gateway to Africa from Europe and that stronger connectivity would provide a foundation for improved people-to-people relations and economic growth. Additionally, the two nations are exploring opportunities regarding critical minerals, such as lithium.
