Nigeria announces 24-man AFCON squad; Victor Osimhen urges Galatasaray to sign Tolu Arokodare
Technical adviser Gernot Rohr released a 24‑man list for Nigeria's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic in Porto Novo on 27 March and Lesotho in Lagos on 30 March. The squad includes captain Ahmed Musa, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, forward Victor Osimhen, and other regulars such as Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze, with several players named as standby.
Separately, Nigeria’s leading striker Victor Osimhen reportedly urged Turkish champions Galatasaray to sign fellow Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare as a backup striker for the 2026/27 season, after the expected departure of Argentine forward Mauro Icardi. Arokodare, who has struggled for form at Wolverhampton Wanderers following a €26 million move from Genk, is available this summer and is said to be open to a loan or permanent deal.
