Within the All Progressives Congress (APC), senior power brokers are reportedly planning a presidential ticket for the 2023 election that would pair former Ogun governor and senator Ibikunle Amosun with Attorney General Abubakar Maliki as the presidential candidate. Sources say the move is intended to sideline former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu and other rivals ahead of the party’s membership revalidation.

Separately, ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ogun State APC gubernatorial candidate Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola presented his running‑mate, Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa‑Balogun, to President Tinubu in Abuja. The meeting, attended by senior APC leaders and the Ogun governor, was described as an opportunity for Tinubu to endorse the ticket and offer guidance.
