Nigeria appoints Ozebagbe and Ortega as Olympic Eagles assistants
Eric Chelle, the head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has appointed Bright Ozebagbe and Deniran Ortega as assistant coaches for the Olympic Eagles. The appointments aim to prepare the Under-23 squad for the 2028 Olympic Games qualification campaign.
Ozebagbe, the Technical Adviser for Ikorodu City in the Nigeria Premier Football League, brings extensive local coaching experience. Ortega is a UEFA-licensed coach with experience involving the Scottish Football Association and the Nigeria Flying Eagles.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) confirmed the appointments, noting that Chelle intends to open a training camp in Abuja shortly. Nigeria’s Olympic qualifiers are slated to begin in November 2026.
