Nigeria Bus Driver Arrested After Fatal Crash Killing Passenger

Ifeanyi Ukwaja, a driver for Agbasi City Mass Transit, was arrested after allegedly crashing his commercial bus into a parked truck near Ijebu‑Ode in Ogun State. The crash followed a heated argument with a passenger seated in the front‑right seat; witnesses say the driver swerved the bus into the truck, killing the passenger instantly and injuring several other passengers.

After abandoning the vehicle, Ukwaja fled to his hometown. Police tracked him down and arrested him on July 18 at the Ahiazu Mbaise Police Station in Imo State, then transferred him to Ijebu‑Ode for further investigation and prosecution.
