Nigeria Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Ex‑Minister Uche Nnaji Over Certificate Forgery

A Federal High Court in Abuja granted the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) a bench warrant to arrest former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Uche Nnaji. The commission alleges Nnaji forged academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates and repeatedly ignored invitations to cooperate with the investigation. The court also authorised the ICPC to declare Nnaji wanted in newspapers and on social media, with the warrant remaining in force until he is apprehended.

Nnaji, appointed by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023, resigned after the allegations emerged. He has since emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Enugu State in the 2027 elections. The former minister has not publicly responded to the court order.
