Nigeria Court Upholds David Mark's Leadership of ADC, Fines Opponent
The Federal High Court in Abuja affirmed the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) under former Senate President David Mark as national chairman and former Osun governor Rauf Aregbesola as national secretary. Justice Musa Liman dismissed a lawsuit filed by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, who had challenged the July 2, 2025 handover of party leadership from former chairman Ralph Nwosu. The court ruled it lacked jurisdiction to intervene in internal party affairs and found Abejide had no legal standing. The judge ordered Abejide to pay N2 million in costs to each defendant and imposed a N10 million fine on his lawyer.
