Nigerian courts impose death sentences in terrorism, kidnapping and robbery cases

The Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Boko Haram member Alkali Yarima to death by hanging and multiple lengthy prison terms for attacks on Maiduguri. In Ekiti State, the High Court sentenced Ibrahim Abubakar and Abdullahi Abubakar to death for the 2022 kidnapping of NYSC staff member Omoboade Adesina, while a third defendant was discharged.
