Nigeria's PDP Board of Trustees Fined N150 million by Federal High Court
Justice Salim Ibrahim of the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered a judgment that ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, led by Adolphus Wabara, to pay N140 million in costs. The court also imposed personal costs of N10 million on the party’s counsel, Chief Chris Uche (SAN). The lawsuit had sought a court order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise the PDP interim National Working Committee chaired by Kabiru Turaki. The judge dismissed the suit as frivolous, describing it as an abuse of court process and lacking merit, and imposed the combined N150 million penalty.
