Nigeria Customs Service launches nationwide integrity survey
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has launched the 2026 Customs Integrity Perception Survey to evaluate corruption, transparency, and accountability within the organization. Approved by Comptroller-General Bashir Adeniyi, the nationwide initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the World Customs Organisation under its Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion Programme.
The survey aims to gather candid feedback from both officers and external stakeholders to identify operational areas requiring reform and to strengthen internal integrity mechanisms. To ensure honest participation, the NCS has stated that the exercise will be anonymous.
NCS personnel will participate via a dedicated online platform, while stakeholders—including licensed agents, importers, exporters, shipping lines, and terminal operators—will access a separate platform using one-time passwords (OTPs). The Service has generated 5,000 OTPs for the stakeholder component of the exercise, which is scheduled to run until October 9, 2026.
