Nigeria Customs Service launches World Bank‑backed audit reform mission

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has begun a two‑week technical assistance mission on Post Clearance Audit (PCA) from 1 June to 12 June 2026, in partnership with the World Bank Group under the Accelerated Revenue Mobilisation Reform (ARMOR) Programme. The programme aims to strengthen compliance management, boost revenue collection, and improve trade facilitation by adopting risk‑based targeting, case and registry management, quality assurance, integrated audit systems and data‑driven decision‑making.

Comptroller‑General Adewale Adeniyi opened the workshop in Abuja, emphasizing a shift toward an intelligence‑driven, technology‑enabled customs administration. Assistant Comptroller‑General Babatunde Olomu, World Bank Task Team Lead Moses Kajubi, and ARMOR lead consultant Colonel Aloke Dutt highlighted the use of digital tools such as the B’Odogwu platform and international best‑practice audit methodologies. Participants will receive practical tools and training to modernise PCA processes, enhance transparency, and increase public confidence in Nigeria’s customs revenue system.
